A native of California, Patsy Mote has spent her life involved in the arts.  She graduated from Mills College with a double major in English and studio arts.  In Berkley, California, she had a graphic design business and helped start two equity theatres. 

After moving to Maryland in 1998, she served for 10 years as the chair of Art in Public Places for Prince George’s County; as a member of the Maryland State Arts Council and of the Leadership Council of the Clarice Smith Center for the Performing Arts.  In addition to Maryland Hall, Mote is on the Maryland Commission on Public Art.  The author of “Great Menus:  Seasonal Recipes for Entertaining,” Mote and her husband Dan enjoy entertaining and living on the water in Annapolis.
