Fused Glass Mosiac Dish
This is a fun introduction to kiln formed glass jewelry, an amazing material with endless possibilities. In this 2.5 hour workshop students will learn how to cut glass and create a beautiful fused glass dish or bowl. Recycled glass, pattern bar pieces and stringer will be used to create one of a kind coaster set or a 9 inch by 9 inch dish or bowl. This class is suited for students of all skill levels. Beginners are welcome.

Introduction to Yoga Workshop
Yoga is an ancient system of self care based on bringing harmony and balance to body, mind and spirit, leading us to a greater sense of peace and well being in our lives. In this workshop we will explore basic yogic breathing, physical postures and relaxation. An experience designed for those new to yoga. Also valuable for experienced practitioners who would like a one day experience. All yoga supplies are provided. Wear loose comfortable clothing.

Child's Pastel Portrait Workshop
Paint a child's portrait sketch in soft and hard pastels. Instructor demonstration and lecture will offer a step by step approach to getting an accurate likeness of a child.

The American Primitive Letterpress
Introduction to Letterpress is a 4-hour session that involves students in the hands-on process of designing, typesetting, and printing their own cards, flyers, and small posters by traditional letterpress methods using vintage wood and metal type and a classic flatbed galley-proof printing press.

Ballroom Workshop & Social Dance Party: Tango & Rumba
NEW 3 Hour FORMAT: 1.5 Hour Introductory Ballroom dance workshop for adults mixed with an 1.5 hour Social Dance Party. Learn basics to the Tango & Rumba during the workshop and then we turn down the lights and dance the night away for real practice time to a variety of ballroom dances and music. Great date night! Open to beginners thru advanced.

One Form/Many Pots
The basic form is only the first step. From one simple cup we can create a vase, a bottle, a tray, etc. In this two-part workshop participants will explore a variety of finishing solutions starting from one form. In the first session students will bring two one green not-yet-leather-hard forms: one vertical and one horizontal.

Impressionist Portrait Painting Workshop
This weekend workshop will utilize Maryland Hall's north-light studio classrooms to explore portrait painting with an emphasis on color perception. A fundamental challenge in portraiture is how to paint a beautiful , natural looking flesh color. This aspect of portraiture will be studied along with proportion, light and shade, and anatomy.

This lecture-based class covers technical needs, provides inspiration for good nature photography. Subjects include planning locations, light, weather, time of day, taking close-ups, landscapes, panoramas, and post-processing.

Hanging Glass Pocket Vase or Sun Catcher
Interested in new hobby? Give glass fusing a try and make a fun new project. In this 2.5 hour class students will create a unique hanging pocket vase or sun catcher using recycled glass, pattern bar pieces, stringer and copper. This class is for beginners or advance students looking for a fun relaxing project oriented class.
