Course Description:

For teens and adults who want to improve their audition skills for local productions, college acceptance, or any other performance opportunity. This class will teach students how to stage monologues/ songs, learn short dance combinations, prepare for cold readings, and give them the edge they’ll need in the audition room. Students will cover different aspects of auditioning in each class. The final class will be a mock audition and will include introducing themselves/ their material, performing a monologue and/or song, learning a short dance combination, and cold reading sides. Please note: students are not required to perform a song at the final if they are not normally singers, but they will learn how to stage a song in class. Students can dress casually for regular classes, but will be expected to attend the final class dressed for a real audition. Materials: one three ring binder, formal audition attire for the final class.
