Adult Classes

An introduction to the art of classical ballet for the novice including the basic positions of the arms and feet, the basic exercises of the ballet barre and centre, plus exercises for strength and flexibility. A great way to work out and get into shape for the dance enthusiast. Prerequisite: none. Attire: Women: leotards, tights, skirts, warm-up pants. Hair should be pulled neatly off the face so it does not inhibit movement. Men: T-shirt, jazz pants, sweats or tights. Ballet shoes are required for both men and women. The Acrylic painting class is a beginning to intermediate level class. We will cover painting techniques, materials, subject matter, brushes and care of materials, mediums and color mixing. Students should bring several photos and/or items to class the first day. We will be working on 2 canvases during the class. The Teen Studio allows young artists to concentrate on their skills in a nurturing and professional Studio setting. Students may work with any subject matter, with any materials and techniques. This includes drawing, painting, printing, pastels, small sculptures, fiber arts, etc. We will have personal critiques throughout the week and go over "tricks of the trade", and basic framing and displays for student's work. Students should supply their own materials for each project, including photos or subject matter. Individual attention will be given to each student. Intro to Abstract Painting begins with several excercises to highten creativity, while working with color, new techniques and materials. Every class starts with a new technique. We build upon this foundation and work up to a final finished canvas. We will be working in Acrylic paints, mediums and various surfaces. A apron is advised. A materials fee of $45.00 is payable in cash,the first day of class to the Instructor. This covers all the materials and tools used in class. There will be some home studio work throughout the week. This class will cover of types of pastels, pastel papers, fixatives, techniques, tools, and framing. Students should bring several pictures for subject material. This can include photos, magazine pictures, books, and designs. Please do not work from computer or phone screens. The materials fee is $55.00, this includes a pastelset, cash only, please.You may bring your own supplies if you already have them. Teacher has requested masks be worn in this class.
