This class is VIRTUAL. The Basics I class is for beginners and almost-beginners. We start with the basic ballet positions and simplest steps. Barre and centre exercises are followed by gentle stretching. The class emphasizes alignment and balance to produce ease of movement. This class is an extension of the introduction to the art of classical ballet, including barre, centre and stretch exercises. Some previous training recommended or by permission of instructor. Attire: Women: leotards, tights, skirts, warm-up pants. Hair should be pulled neatly off the face so it does not inhibit movement. Men: T-shirt, jazz pants, sweats or tights.
