The Woodturning Co-op provides access to the woodturning workshop during non-class times. Co-op members should be of sufficient safety and technical development to work independently. In this 8 week class students will advance their knowledge of wheel throwing to create more complex forms such as teapots, platters, pitchers, and lidded forms. We will also discuss aesthetic details regarding rims, feet, handles ,proportions, weight, etc. Bring an old small towel, a sketch book and lots of ideas. The Basics I class is for beginners and almost-beginners. We start with the basic ballet positions and simplest steps. Barre and centre exercises are followed by gentle stretching. The class emphasizes alignment and balance to produce ease of movement. Dress: Female: leotard and tights, or other comfortable clothes for moving, and ballet slippers. Male: T-shirts, tights (and shorts, if desired) or other comfortable clothes for moving, and ballet slippers. No class October 3rd or November 21st.
