Looking to explore a new medium and try something new? Well, this class is for you! This class will introduce students to kiln fused glass by creating their favorite beach scene or sun catcher in their own style. The fused glass art composition is beautiful enough to display in your home or use as a gift for someone special. Using recycled glass, frit, powders, confetti, stringers and noodles design your own glass sun catcher. This class is appropriate for beginners or glass artists with some experience. Bring nature pictures for inspiration. A materials fee of $15 will be due at the beginning of class. Projects will be fired after the workshop and available for pick up the following week. For more information, please contact the instructor at clare.p.shepherd@gmail.com.

Always thought that it looked like fun to throw clay on the potter’s wheel? Here’s your chance to just try it, a two time session giving the wheel a spin. You get a quick introduction to wheel throwing, then you try it! We supply materials and tools, basic instruction and hands-on assistance. At the end you choose two to three pieces to be fired. During the following session we will talk about different glazing and decoration techniques and you will have a chance to glaze your pieces. Your finished pots can be picked up a couple weeks later. This is a great class for the curious or those who just want to check pottery off the bucket list! No experience required. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting messy and bring and old towel. Materials fee of $5 is due in class. For more information, please contact the instructor at renata@rmastrotipottery.com
