The Basics I class is for beginners and almost-beginners . We start with the basic ballet positions and simplest steps. Barre and centre exercises are followed by gentle stretching. The class emphasizes alignment and balance to produce ease of movement. Dress: leotard and tights, or other comfortable clothes for moving, and ballet slippers. The Basics II class is for mature adults who have some ballet background. Additional barre and centre exercises, including simple turns and jumps, will be added as the class level permits; however, students are encouraged to go at their own pace. Dress: Female: leotard and tights or other comfortable clothes for moving, and ballet slippers; Male: t-shirt and tights (or shorts, if desired) and ballet slippers. No class 7/06/2022. This 7-week class is designed for all levels of potters who would like to explore a broad variety of hand building techniques. Beginner hand builders will learn proper technique and Intermediate/Advanced students will take their skills to new levels. To enhance the beauty of the hand built piece, different texturing techniques will be introduced. Decorative slips, textures and glazing applications will also be explored. Looking to explore a new medium and try something new? Well, this class is for you! This class will introduce students to kiln fused glass by creating their favorite beach scene or sun catcher in their own style. The fused glass art composition is beautiful enough to display in your home or use as a gift for someone special. Using recycled glass, frit, powders, confetti, stringers and noodles design your own glass sun catcher. This class is appropriate for beginners or glass artists with some experience. Bring nature pictures for inspiration. A materials fee of $15 will be due at the beginning of class. Projects will be fired after the workshop and available for pick up the following week.
