Glass Fusing & Metals Classes at Maryland Hall
The Glass Studio at MD Hall is one of our most engaging spaces where natural light filters in and kilns hum along turning students' work into masterful glass displays. Our Teaching Artists are accommodating to all levels of students by offering classes for all skills levels and ages including traditional classes, workshops to "just try it," family workshops and children's classes.

In this 3 week class, we will explore fun glass techniques like tie-dye, batik and crackle! We will make part-sheets to create a larger project of your choosing. We will also do some "cold" work with the glass grinder, tile saw and our new lap grinder! Includes all materials fees($ 60-75). In this three week class students will get to explore techniques in patterns, flow and textures in glass. Students will create pattern bars, flow bars, bacon bars, part sheets, and be introduced to the vitrigraph kiln. This class will create parts and pieces to be used in creating a final project piece such as a glass dish, or free standing project. All skill levels are welcome. A materials fee of $70 will be due to the teacher at the beginning of the first class.

Children of all ages will enjoy working with a parent to arrange brightly colored pieces of glass which will be heated in a kiln to fuse them together to make their favorite Pokemon characters and mindcraft creatures. They can be made into glass jewelry, nightlights, coasters or suncatchers. This is the perfect chance to capture your favorite characters in a new medium. Projects will require overnight cooling and will be available for pick up the following week. A materials fee of $5 per project will be due at the end of class. Learn the basic method of weaving with glass. You will learn how to design and form glass in the kiln which will be used to form a textured glass weave using glass strips and stringers. The woven piece will be shaped to look like fabric. Your pieces will be 6 by 6inches. Material fee is $40
