Musical Autist Troupe is an inclusive group of individuals between 8-14 years old, with and without disabilities, as well as high school/college student interns, and guest musicians. Time is spent each week sharing songs with one another, which can be a recording of a favorite song, or a piece that is performed live for the group if a participant so chooses. Group leaders often introduce music which celebrates neurodiversity, self-advocacy and empowerment. Class time is also spent rehearsing and recording songs to be performed in advocacy events facilitated by The Musical Autist non-profit. Previous music skills are a benefit, but not required.
