If it is squishy, oozy, or gooey, you will make it in this camp! This weeklong camp allows students to explore everything made from clay, pulp, slime, papier mache and more! This new summer workshop will give the students a chance to start with drawing materials to set up a still life, landscape, or favorite animal from photos or objects from home. We will then work on a painting in Acrylics to finish out the class. All drawings and the painting will go home the last day of class. Students may bring photos, (no portraits please), favorite stuffed animal, a book , action figures, farm animals, dragons, dinnosaurs, favorite toy, dance shoes , flowers from your garden etc. Students may bring a snack and a drink to class. Children of all ages will enjoy working with a parent to arrange brightly colored pieces of glass which will be heated in a kiln to fuse them together to make their favorite Pokemon characters and mythical creatures. They can be made into glass jewelry, nightlights, coasters or suncatchers. This is the perfect chance to capture your favorite characters in a new medium. Projects will require overnight cooling and will be available for pick up the following week. A materials fee of $5 per project will be due at the end of class. This class inspires children to discover new ways of drawing everyday subjects. We will explore the differences between 2D and 3D objects, natural lighting from sunny to cloudy days, how to make fruit look like fruit and not a vegetable and how to draw humans and animals of all sorts. This class will include techniques for pencil, oil pastel, charcoal, and colored pencil. A materials fee of $35 is due to the instructor at the first day (this fee covers a drawing pencil set, oil pastels, charcoal, a sketch pad, and class supplies). All student artwork will go home on the last day. Students attending Artworks Drawing, Painting may stay through the supervised breaks for lunch/snack time between classes for a fee of $5 per student, per supervised break, per day. This fun painting class will start with learning all about colors, using the color wheel and mixing paints. We will move on to different types of painting; water color pencils, and acrylics. From there, students will paint two canvases, one 11”x14” and the other a postcard size. Students may bring photos from home for the postcard painting (maybe one of your vacation photos!) and the other subject will come from hundreds of stock photos: landscapes, wild animals, birds, flowers, frogs, etc. A materials fee of $45 is due to the instructor at the first class,cash only, please.
