Comic books, graphic novels, and concept art abound in this week-long camp. Your young artist will learn to think, draw, and ink like an illustrator -- designing works of art around their favorite stories or their own narratives. Students may work in whatever style they wish, but will be encouraged to further their artistic growth with new materials and techniques, including drawing, painting, and other forms of wet media. Storytellers, video game lovers, anime fans, and fine artists alike will love this camp, as they get to learn what it's like to design posters, book covers, games, comics, and more. This workshop starts with techniques and materials commonly used by professional artists. Each day we will work with a new material including assorted drawing pencils, charcoals, erasers, papers, and oil pastels. Subject matter will include animals, human faces and forms, still life settings, and landscapes. Techniques will include enlarging and reducing images, line, form, light and shadow, volume, through value studies. Students will have class time to draw subjects of their choice, using the techniques covered in class. Please bring several photos and items to class with you on the first day of things that you would like to draw. This can include objects such as photos, action figures, animated figures, or just ideas that you would like to put on paper. A materials fee of $45 is due to the Instructor the first day of class, cash only, please, (this fee covers everything we will use in class). This class is for beginners to intermediate level student. Students attending Jr. Drawing, Painting, may stay through the supervised breaks for lunch/snack time between classes for a fee of $5 per student, per supervised break, per day. This workshop is for beginner to intermediate young painters. Class starts working with the color wheel, mixing the paint color students want for completing several paintings on canvas board. We will use transfer and free hand techniques. Students may bring photos for subjects matter and may include animals, action figures, cartoons, pets, vacation post cards etc. No portraits please. Students will learn how to create brush strokes with several types of brushes using acrylic paints and finishing mediums. A materials fee of $45 is due to the instructor at the first class, cash only, please,(this fee covers everything needed for this class). I have hundreds of stock photos if students would like to use them.
