    Led by a Board Certified Music Therapist, this inclusive group of kids with and without disabilities, as well as teen and young adult volunteer musicians, will have the opportunity to make music and build relationships while working together toward performance opportunities.     Students in this class will have a chance to use quality, studio grade artist materials to create several final drawings of numerous subjects, including still life settings, exotic animals, and dynamic landscapes. Value studies, composition, shadow and light along with line and form studies will help young artists progress on a daily basis. Comparison of different papers, charcoals and drawing pencils will give students a variety of choices to use for their final projects. Students will have daily “Home Studio” work to prepare for the next day’s lesson, it is not mandatory, but extremely helpful if this work is completed. A materials fee of $45 is due to the instructor on the first day of class. This fee covers everything necessary for this class and an itemized list is available.     Students taking this workshop will be using quality studio grade materials and streched canvas to create a painting of their choice and subject matter. Students should bring several photos or objects of their choice to the first class to select a subject for a final painting. We will start with paper to size the project and create several thumb nail sketches for our studies and proceed to the easel to paint. Students will try several brush types as well as a variety of mediums for effects with acrylic paints. All styles of painting will be acceptable from realism to abstract, depending on the student's choice of subject matter for their work.     Students fill their work with color using oil pastels and soft pastels to create beautiful landscapes, still life studies , animals and abstracts. This class covers pastel mixing, papers, both wet and dry techniques, mono-tone works and realist studies. If you have never tried pastels or have had trouble with muddy colors, this class is a necessity. Students should bring numerous photos to class the first day. These can be from a book or magazine, vacation photos, your photos, anything goes. All subject matter is your choice. A materials fee of $55 is due to the instructor on the first day of class.     This teen camp will explore the fundamentals of wheel throwing. We will slow down and take our time learning wheel basics and focus on establishing a physical memory of wedging, centering and creating a form in clay along with settling our minds for better creative work. Along with wheel throwing we will develop our own personal expression in clay through shape, content, textures and colors. This is about fun, so come, no matter your skill level. Students will be allowed to come to open studio hours that week with permission of the teacher.

    This teen camp will explore the fundamentals of wheel throwing and handbuilding. We will learn the foundational knowledge of throwing and explore the wide range of techniques of handbuilding to further our repertoire. We will spend time developing our own personal expression in clay through shape, content, textures and colors and will be creating both functional and non-functional wares. Students should wear clothes that can get dirty, trim their fingernails short, and tie back long hair. Materials and studio fee of $30 due in first class.

    The Teen Drawing and Painting workshop covers basic-advanced techniques.Students will draw and then paint their subject the same day. This excercise helps with color mixing, and mediums as well as sizing the subject matter to canvas. Students should bring several subject items the frist class. Students may work in acrylics, oils and pastels, as well as charcoal, pencil , inks and markers. Some subjects will be provided.     The Teen Studio allows young artists to concentrate on their skills in a nurturing and professional Studio setting. Students may work with any subject matter, with any materials and techniques. This includes drawing, painting, printing, pastels, small sculptures, fiber arts, etc. We will have personal critiques throughout the week and go over "tricks of the trade", and basic framing and displays for student's work. Students should supply their own materials for each project, including photos or subject matter. Individual attention will be given to each student.
