    Students begin learning basic classical ballet etiquette as well as ballet steps in different rhythmic meters. Special attention is given to body alignment and increased exercises for strength and coordination. Students must be 5 years old on or before April 15, 2021. The attire for all classes, except where otherwise noted, is as follows: Girls: Black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet slippers. No jewelry and hair must be neatly pulled back from the face.     Ballet Theater of Maryland offers classes in two Annapolis locations. Go to www.balletmaryland.org for a complete list.Please contact BTM at 410-224-5644 for more information regarding the Ballet Theatre of Maryland Program. This class is a continuation of Pre-Ballet, with special emphasis on increased exercises for strength, coordination, flexibility, and alignment. Rhythmic movement and music is emphasized. Classical ballet vocabulary is introduced as well as ballet barre etiquette. Note: Students must be age 6 on or before April 15, 2021. The attire for all classes, except where otherwise noted, is as follows: Girls: Black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers. Boys: White or Black T-shirt, Black Tights, Black Ballet Slippers.

    This class is the basic, entry-level class for the beginning tap student with an emphasis on the musical theater performing style. Rudimentary skills are developed while learning proper terminology, rhythm and musicality. The attire for tap classes is as follows: Girls: Black leotard, tights or socks, shorts (optional) and black tap shoes; Boys: Shirt, pants or shorts, and black tap shoes. Hair should be pulled back off the face into a neat bun or short ponytail. Students must own tap shoes to enroll in this class.
