    Children will draw a picture of their favorite animal or pet on paper and then construct the same portrait on a 6 inch square tile of glass using fusible glass. Projects will require overnight firing and will be available for pick up the following week. A materials fee of $5 per project will be due to the instructor.     Lovers of animated movies, graphic novels, and video games alike will enjoy this camp that fosters storytelling. Young artists will learn how to design and draw complex characters of their own creation from head to toe. This class will focus on traditional drawing and illustration skills, including character portraits, action drawing, and sequential illustration.     Students in this class will have a chance to use quality, studio grade artist materials to create several final drawings of numerous subjects, including still life settings, exotic animals, and dynamic landscapes. Value studies, composition, shadow and light along with line and form studies will help young artists progress on a daily basis. Comparison of different papers, charcoals and drawing pencils will give students a variety of choices to use for their final projects. Students will have daily “Home Studio” work to prepare for the next day’s lesson, it is not mandatory, but extremely helpful if this work is completed. A materials fee of $45 is due to the instructor on the first day of class. This fee covers everything necessary for this class and an itemized list is available.     Students taking this workshop will be using quality studio grade materials and streched canvas to create a painting of their choice and subject matter. Students should bring several photos or objects of their choice to the first class to select a subject for a final painting. We will start with paper to size the project and create several thumb nail sketches for our studies and proceed to the easel to paint. Students will try several brush types as well as a variety of mediums for effects with acrylic paints. All styles of painting will be acceptable from realism to abstract, depending on the student's choice of subject matter for their work.     Students fill their work with color using oil pastels and soft pastels to create beautiful landscapes, still life studies , animals and abstracts. This class covers pastel mixing, papers, both wet and dry techniques, mono-tone works and realist studies. If you have never tried pastels or have had trouble with muddy colors, this class is a necessity. Students should bring numerous photos to class the first day. These can be from a book or magazine, vacation photos, your photos, anything goes. All subject matter is your choice. A materials fee of $55 is due to the instructor on the first day of class.     This class inspires children to discover new ways of drawing everyday subjects. We will explore the differences between 2D and 3D objects, natural lighting from sunny to cloudy days, how to make fruit look like fruit and not a vegetable and how to draw humans and animals of all sorts. This class will include techniques for pencil, oil pastel, charcoal, and colored pencil. A materials fee of $35 is due to the instructor at the first day (this f+H37ee covers a drawing pencil set, oil pastels, charcoal, a sketch pad, and class supplies). All student artwork will go home on the last day. Students attending Artworks Drawing, Painting and/or the Kid's Art Studio may stay through the supervised breaks for lunch/snack time between classes for a fee of $5 per student, per supervised break, per day.
