Luis Bello

Luis Bello joined Jovenes Artistas, part of Maryland Hall's outreach programming, in 2015 after overcoming many challenges in his life. Once in the program, he thrived as a visual artist. At his first group outreach show, Luis sold a piece of his original art and impressed patrons with his unique artistic voice.  Over the years, Luis has participated in a number of public art projects and has also mentored some younger members in JA. Luis is currently living and working in Easton while he continues to develop new and innovative art collections. His work is very process oriented and features layers of abstract marks while also incorporating raw imagery and text. Luis is the first artist to create and show work through the new Openshaw Artist-in-Residence program.

The exhibit will run in the Openshaw Balcony Gallery from February 3 until May 1st, 2022.
