Course Description: 

Students begin formal training for the Pointe class by completing the Demi-Pointe class in de-shanked pointe shoes to further strengthen the muscles in the legs and feet. Students graduate to fully-shanked pointe shoes as the muscles, bones, and joints of the legs, feet, and back are anatomically ready. Prerequisite: Three or more years of ballet training, successful completion of Beginning Ballet 3 exams plus a minimum of three technique classes per week and LA/NY jazz as a cross-trainer is recommended. The attire for all classes, except where otherwise noted, is as follows: Girls: Black BTM leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers. Please Note: BTM's black leotard may be purchased exclusively through BTM. Order forms are available on the website, Forms will also be available in classrooms the first few weeks of class. No jewelry allowed. Hair must be neatly pulled back from the face into a bun. Boys: White t-shirt, black tights, and white or black ballet slippers.
