Founded as a place for Artists to gather, experiment and grow, we offer a wide variety of classes for different mediums, skill levels and ages. Taking a class at Maryland Hall is an investment in yourself and your community. Through our Education Department we are able to support professional local Artists and serve our community with diverse and affordable programming. Your class tuition also supports our Scholarship Program, enabling low income families in our area to enroll their children in fulfilling arts classes.

Our Class Catalog is continually evolving to provide new experiences along with student favorites and MD Hall traditions. From ceramics to yoga to music, discover an enriching class for all ages — toddlers through adults. To support our vision of enriching all with inspiring art experiences, our classrooms, both in-person and virtually, offer something for every student.

About Our On-Site Classes

Classes taking place on site at Maryland Hall offer a chance for shared experiences and in-person instruction from your Teaching Artist in our well equipped facility. To ensure the health and safety of all of our students and Teaching Artists, we have a safe and responsible plan for hosting in-person classes.

Students can expect:

  • Designated entrances and exits (all exits remain open in case of an emergency)
  • Check-in policy and Covid-19 screening questions
  • Smaller class sizes (8 students or fewer depending on classroom size)
  • Staying 6 feet apart from all fellow students, staff and Teaching Artists whenever possible
  • Mandatory facial coverings for all children 5 and older and adults
  • Increased cleaning practices building-wide
  • Hand sanitizing stations in all public areas

About Our Virtual Classes

Enjoy Maryland Hall @ Home through an online class! We are currently offering a variety of Live Virtual Classes that take place at a scheduled time each week and Anytime Virtual Classes that can be enjoyed on your own schedule.

How It Works:

In our Class Catalog, virtual classes include "Virtual Class" in the title. Live Virtual Classes take place at a set time, live via Zoom. Anytime Virtual Classes can be enjoyed anytime, at your own pace via Google Classroom and may include pre-recorded videos, activities and lessons. Information on how to access your virtual class will be sent by your Teaching Artist after registration.
