Robert C. Leib

A 1972 graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Robert Leib was born and raised in Sunbury, Pennsylvania.  Much to his chagrin and at his mother’s urging (for which he learned to be very grateful), Leib was a student of piano for ten years and voice for six.

At the Naval Academy, he was a member of the Antiphonal Choir for four years.  He and his family moved to the Annapolis area in 1981 and have remained here since.  Retiring from the Navy after 22 years of service, he served for over 11 years on the Executive Staff of Anne Arundel County Public Schools and in 1996 was requested to represent the Superintendent of Schools on the Maryland Hall Board of Directors.

In 2006 Leib was hired by Anne Arundel County to lead the Fort Meade Region’s Base Realignment and Closure actions.  He continued on Maryland Hall’s Board while employed with the County.

Leib and his wife Karen are active in the community.  Karen is a gardening volunteer at London Town Gardens and he has served on the Board of Directors of the 21st Century Education Foundation, Leadership Anne Arundel, the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce, the Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce, and the Anne Arundel County Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Advisory Board.  Leib retired from county government in July 2013 but continues his active involvement on the Maryland Hall Board of Directors.
