Album Cover Art Exhibition

In celebration of African American Music Month, an exhibit of album cover art will be on display in the Martino Gallery from Friday, June 14 to Wednesday, June 26. The album covers will showcase influential African American music makers and African American music of impact through the years. This unique gallery experience will be a visual journey of nostalgic sound and artistic excellence.

Join us on Wednesday, June 26 starting at 5:30 pm for some pre-concert festivities before a free concert by Art Sherrod, Jr. Food and drink will be available for purchase and the gallery will be open for viewing. The exhibit was originally mounted at the Eubie Blake National Jazz Institute and Cultural Center in Baltimore, MD in 2011. Exhibit text by Troy Burton, Managing Director, Eubie Blake National Jazz Institute and Cultural Center; C.T. Goodman, entertainment feature writer; Lee Mergner, publisher, JazzTimes Magazine; and Carla Willis, Producer, WEAA FM. Album covers will be provided by WEAA FM, Record and Tape Traders and private donors​.
